Dr. Parmer specializes in counseling families, couples, and individuals who are dealing with sexual issues. As a domestic family mediator, Dr. Parmer works with couples who are in the divorce process as they resolve disputes relative to parenting, finances, and custody. Dr. Parmer completed her Ph.D. in Counselor Education at The University of Iowa, specializing in Couple and Family Counseling with a minor in Family Studies. Dr. Parmer is also a professor of Counselor Education at Central Michigan University, and has taught at Washing State University, Chicago State University, and in many other educational settings. She has also contributed to a number of scholarly journals, and research which addresses work/career, sexuality issues, and marriage and family relationships.
